Welcome back from your Easter break. I hope you are all fully rested as we have a fun packed half term. Could I ask all parents now it is getting warmer please provide Sun hats and Sun cream named in your child’s bag.
We raised enough money from the Easter bonnet parade to buy the shelter for our Forest school. This will enable us to access the home area all year round. We will now be able to eat our lunch outside.
We are hoping to start work on a new classroom. This is going to be a massive job. We are hoping it will not cause any disruption. The work is costing around 30,000 pounds and will provide us with a new classroom. We are all really looking forward to it.
Could you please make caroline aware of which primary school your child will be attending in September as we will need to start arranging meetings with schools.
Dates for your Diary…

This area involves us helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves and others by:
- Forming positive relationships and developing respect for others
- Developing social skills
- Learning how to manage their feelings
- Understanding appropriate behaviour in groups
- Having confidence in their own abilities

In this area we give children the opportunity to experience a rich language environment, to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves, and to speak and listen in a range of situations.

Physical development involves opportunities for our children to be active and interactive and to develop their co-ordination, control and movement. Children are helped to understand the importance of physical activity and to make healthy choices in relation to food.
We have an outside space and a garden area where our children have the opportunity to develop their physical development skills.

In this area of learning we encourage children to link sounds and letters and begin to read and write. Children are given access to a wide range of reading materials to ignite their interest.
Rising Stars choose a reading book given every week and we also organise trips to the local library.

Mathematics involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems and to describe shapes, spaces and measures.

This area involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.

This area involves enabling children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials as well as providing opportunities and encouragement for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, dance, role play and design and technology.
